The Weddings
Ken & Meg
Ken & Meg’s stunning summer wedding in Berry on the New South Wales south coast.
I was thrilled that Ken & Meg asked me up to beautiful Berry on the NSW South Coast to shoot their intimate wedding celebration.
These two were a dream to shoot for. So relaxed and fun, with their focus 100% on each other and their family and friends.
I am permanently set to thrive in a Melbourne winter so Berry obliged with a positively tropical 38 degree day that ended in a sideways downpour and accompanying rainbow. I was a sweaty mess and everybody had an excellent time.
Linnaeus Farm was the perfect venue - cozy accomodation for the bridal party, a working kitchen garden, a barn for the reception (who doesn’t love a barn?!) and stunning settings for photos in every direction.
And I must give a shoutout to Rhianna Smith, who along with her team of legends had the whole day running like clockwork.

Gillian & Matt
Gillian & Matt’s DIY good-time wedding at Footscray Park Bowling Club, Melbourne’s inner west.
I beg your pardon but it turns out you can get married in loads of different ways and it still works!
Gillian and Matt got ready at home together (BELIEVE IT) and then without telling anyone what was about to happen, they got married for real at the dining room table in front of their besties.
Then it was back to getting ready and off to the formal/informal celebrations with all their family and friends at Footscray Park Bowling Club.
Big shout out to Gillian who made her own dress. I know that’s something that people do, but I swear if I made something for myself to wear it would look a lot like a bedsheet with a rope belt. She’s an absolute wizard.
Laura & Dave
Laura & Dave’s intimate wedding at Little Henri in Melbourne’s inner northern suburb of Thornbury.
There was something about Laura and Dave’s wedding that felt ‘just right’. Everything about the day was relaxed, easy, and never over-the-top.
The couple met for a first look on the steps of Melbourne’s Parliament House, followed by a wander through the surrounding streets and parks for a few quick photos. From there it was straight to one of my absolute favourite venues, Thornbury’s Little Henri.
The courtyard ceremony was full of heart, and the reception to follow was precisely what everyone needs at a wedding: an intimate get-together with close family and friends, good food and drink, and loads of bad dancing.
No pretence. Nothing forced. Just honest good times.
THE VENDORS:
Celebrant: Margaret Collier // Venue/Catering: Little Henri // Laura’s Hair: Lux Hair Salon // Florist: Your Flower Fix // Laura’s Dress: Rebecca Vallance // Dave’s Jacket: Calibre // Engagement Ring & Wedding Band: Cushla Whiting Jewellery // Cake: Miss Lady Bird Cakes

Here’s Jamie & Jack getting married at the always-fun Forest Weddings in Kinglake, VIC. I had a blast at this one.
As Jamie has said of this very slideshow, “What a vibe 🔥🔥”
Well, yes. I wouldn’t have put it exactly like that because I’m a hundred years old, but I’d have to agree. A vibe indeed.

Zoe & Oscar
DIY Wedding Goodness
Pulling together a wedding all on your own is a mega job.
What can at first seem like just a few big tasks - book a few vendors, make a list of guests, google "bomboniere or bonboniere?" - inevitably grows into a full-time job you can’t ever remember interviewing for. (It’s unpaid, by the way.)
It’s impressive when anyone does it, but Zoe and Oscar really took things up a notch...
Try in the two weeks before your wedding hosting your parents from overseas, and moving house with your two-year-old. (Otis is bloody lovely, but I’m assuming he didn’t pack any boxes.)
Zoe also created three stunning cakes for their celebration. (You can see more of her stunning work here)
And to say it all came together beautifully and seamlessly on the day would be putting it lightly. It was a 10/10 good time.

Nicole & John
Gorgeous Suburban Home Wedding
I get to shoot in so many amazing venues and locations, but there’s something about being inviting into a family home that really can’t be beaten. It adds something special to a wedding.
It helps to weave that day-long episode into the larger story of the families involved. Moreover, family homes really are the most characterful and authentic places to shoot. So stop cringing at your parents’ interior decorations; trust me, they’re making the photos better!
Nicole and John took that approach and set their wedding in the beautiful garden of John’s East Malvern family home and nearby Central Park. The result, I think, speaks for itself.

Kat & Rion
Melbourne Warehouse Wedding
Kicking off the day with YouTube bowtie tutorials helped to set a very relaxed tone for Kat & Rion. It also served as my regular reminder to learn how to tie a bow tie.
These two foodies took me for a quick visit to Footscray Market on the way to The Line - one of the coolest venues I’ve had the chance to shoot at.
Now we’ll never really know what DJ MC Apples did to those people on the dance floor, who on first look appeared to be regular wedding guests. But they went berserk and a handful tore off their shirts, so we approve.

Cat & Tim
Great Ocean Road Wedding
When absolutely everything goes right, it looks a lot like this. Cat and Tim’s epic festival wedding spanned a weekend on Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, with a surprise helicopter arrival (FYI, more than a day’s warning might’ve been nice) and a super group of family and friends partying well into the night.
Incredible day. Cat & Tim, let’s do it all again.
